Nowruz (Persian: Nowruz or Nowrooz   نوروز    ‎‎; [nouˈɾuːz]; literally "New Day") is the name of the Iranian New Year, also known as the Persian New Year which is celebrated worldwide by Iranian peoples, along with some other ethno-linguistic groups, as the beginning of the New Year.

Nowruz is the day of the astronomical vernal equinox, and marks the beginning of spring in the Northern Hemisphere. It usually occurs on March 21 or the previous/following day, depending on where it is observed.

Nowruz is the first day of Iranian year , Solar year . Iranians observe the moment of the bigining of each year. They are used to arrange a special table for this moment , that is called " Haft- sin " table .

It has been celebrated for over 3,000 years in the Balkans, the Black Sea Basin, the Caucasus, Central Asia, and Western Asia  . It marks the first day of Farvardin in the Iranian calendar .

Moment of begining of Iranian this new year, 1395 , according to different zone times is :
Official local time of Iran:                                                         Sunday, March 18th, 8:00:12 am
World Clock Time (Greenwich Mean Time) (UTC / GMT):         Sunday 04:32:22 am
Clock Time in America / California / Los Angeles:                     Saturday, March 19th 2016, 9:30:12 pm..

Iranians what do during Nowruz days ?

Iranian families are used to have their hooms completely cleen
before Nowruz and bought new cloths , and then in Nowruz days they will go to each other's hooms to visit their relatives.

Nowrooz days are the first 13 days of each solar ( Iranian ) year ,while the first 4 days  are official holidays . 12th and 13th days of Nowruz are also official holidays .
Anyway all of schools are closed during all 13 days of Nowruz and many Iranian families arrange trips during these days .

In the below picture you see a Haf-sin table that has been arranged for current Nowruz by my grandchildren .

First off I would like to say fantastic blog! I had a quick question which I'd like
to ask if you do not mind. I was curious to find out how you center yourself and
clear your mind before writing. I've had a tough
time clearing my thoughts in getting my ideas out.
I truly do enjoy writing but it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are
usually wasted just trying to figure out how to begin. Any recommendations or
tips? Thank you!
